No Spoilers, I Promise

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Like being on acid for two hours. It was sooo funny, and even funnier being with Misti and Cory for the movie. Saruman was in it. Awesome.

The Release Party: Dozens upon dozens of little kids in capes running around screaming 'Avada Kedavra' while wearing Gryffindor robes and plastic Harry Potter glasses. Yeah, that didn't make much sense to me either. If you're a Harry Potter wannabe then you're not going to run around creaming the Unforgivables, you're going to run around screaming 'I love Hermione Granger'.

The Book: Definitely not what I expected. I thought it was good, but there were some parts of it that just didn't make any real sense. Some things I had to read twice, but that was because I went to the release party and was fucking tired when I got home to read the book. Can't believe some of the things happened.

Concerning the Fandom After the Release: The fandom authors are some of my favorite people in the world and it cracks me up to talk to them the day after a major breakthrough in the movies, or the release of a book. It's like the world is going to end and they all scream that they're bailing out of the fandom and swimming to other shores. Then three weeks later they're all screaming that it's the best thing they've ever read and cursing anyone who dares to write an AU fic because it's not canon, and canon is the bible.

Drunk Dials: People who call at 1.20 in the morning drunk crack me up. Especially when they're someone I don't even expect to call. Especially ex-boyfriends. That love beer. And their names aren't John Wagener. Okay, maybe they are.

Anyway, I'm amused.
